Student Life

A Day in the Life

Northrise University has built a name for itself because of its reputation for academic excellence, the well-qualified faculty and staff, and the state-of-the art computer facilities. However, the school's true strength comes from the students themselves. It is who they are, what they value, and what they want to accomplish that will create the hope Zambia needs to rise above the desperation their country faces.

Students like Erica Mulenga have devoted their lives to teaching less fortunate children how to use computers. Emil Mukaka founded and currently operates a children's primary school in a local shantytown. Joyce Chimbila dedicates her free time to training HIV/AIDS patients and underprivileged women in occupational and life skills. The inspiration and hope Northrise students bring to the surrounding communities are truly building the Kingdom of God and providing their neighbors with the chance of a better tomorrow.

As the old saying goes "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." At Northrise, we take it a step further: when education is coupled with spiritual growth, the results can be miraculous. Our students will not only feed their family and friends literally, but they will shepherd their community to grow in faith in God.

"Education is a companion which no future can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate it and no nepotism can enslave."

- Ropo Oguntimehin
